Ups! there is an alternative name currently in use: Rapita. Hope this be changed officially (but I doubt it since Disney's bought Studios Ghibbly, and you know that Disney's anime have introduced subliminal obscene scenes or messages in movies for young kids!!!).

An all time favorite anime. The name that the japanese chose to name the place was quite unfortunate for spanish spoken kids: Laputa means "the whore" in spanish. Isn't that unfair? I mean, it's for kids! And just imagine the awkward silence when parents and kids find that such offending title displayed in the screen; I just wanted to sink in the couch!!! lol.
So, after I investigated that unusual name, found that there was a place somewhere in the Polynesia called Rapyuta; and it seems that it is now called that way. I would greatly appreciate if you change that "La-whore" title to the more decent Rapyuta. Thanks.
