Another old anime you might want to check out is “Starblazers” (aka Space Battleship Yamato). Essentially a space opera, it precedes even Star Wars. One of the more influential anime.

For this one though I recommend the dub.

I still remember scenes from 20 years ago when I watched it as a small boy.

You know what, I’ll check out the soundtrack just on your recommendations and tell you what I think =) I have heard that ef is based on a dating sim game. I don’t usually like those kind of anime, but maybe I’m wrong..

You know, my daughter was born in January 1989 and she refuses to watch movies which are older than her. I know that it’s unwise, but you know how older teens are. Persuasion is no use.

BTW, I told you before, but ef is largely know for the music by Tenmon. Why don’t you look at its soundtrack at least? OK, maybe Tenmon is no Beethoven, but surely he’s no Justin Timberlake either.

I also wish you editorialized about anime that steals music from old times, e.g. RahXephon. I’d watch that and think… “wait, I heard this in 1979 at a concert”.
